Connie Fiems – PT, DHSc

Connie Fiems is a Board-Certified Neurologic Clinical Specialist, Certified Exercise Expert for Aging Adults and Certified Brain Injury Specialist Trainer. She earned her Master of Physical Therapy from Northwestern University in 1994 and her Doctorate of Health Science from the University of Indianapolis in 2015. Dr. Fiems has worked extensively with individuals with neuromuscular conditions in both comprehensive inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation settings for 23 years. Dr. Fiems is an Assistant Professor for the Krannert School of Physical Therapy at the University of Indianapolis and teaches the neuromuscular conditions curriculum within the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Her research has included work with individuals with Parkinson's disease, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury.



Edith Fitzgerald – Health Systems Engineer

Edith Fitzgerald is currently a Coordinator for Special Programs in Pearland ISD, a public school system located in a suburb of Houston, Texas. Focusing on successful transitions to adult life, she facilitates a coordinated team approach with students, teachers, parents, and outside agencies to help students age 14-22 identify their interests and then develop the skills to achieve their life goals. Edie has a Bachelors in Health Systems Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master in Education from Texas A&M Commerce. Previously, she has worked as a Health Systems Engineer in a variety of settings and is a founder of Lumen Christi Catholic School in Indianapolis, Indiana.



Susan Overton – Certified Public Accountant

Susan Overton is a retired CPA who spent 22 years in various managed healthcare positions, specifically working with the underserved population. She is a graduate of Indiana University's Kelley School of Business. In 1991, Susan and four other individuals implemented a managed care organization owned at the time by Methodist, Indiana University, and Wishard Hospitals. This organization is now called Midwise, Inc. While primarily serving as the Chief Financial Officer, she also assisted with customer service and daily operations. For a period of time, she served as the Interim Executive Director. In November 2006, Susan began her employment with AmeriHealth Caritas, a national Medicaid Managed Care Organization. Serving as the Executive Director for Indiana, she was responsible for overseeing the operations of the Indiana plan, including all implementation activities for a go live date of January 1, 2007. During her time with AmeriHealth Caritas, she also served as a Corporate Office VP Finance, New Business Activation, assisting new plans with implementation. Susan retired from AmeriHealth Caritas in April 2016. Even though Susan is retired, she is still committed to providing the best possible healthcare to
all individuals.



Debbie Pierson – Sage Squirrel Consulting, LLC

Debbie Pierson was with Indiana's Division of Aging from March 2013 until March of 2018. Debbie worked for 11 years with an area agency on aging in addition to other retail management
experience. Debbie is a partner and co-founder of Sage Squirrel Consulting, LLC. Debbie has a bachelor's degree from Earlham College and a master’s degree in Public Administration from Indiana State University.



Jim Sanders – MA, LMFT, RBC (Behavioral Consultant)

Jim has been providing treatment to individuals with various challenges since 1980. Jim graduated summa cum laude with master’s degree in Clinical Psychology in 1982. Jim became committed to individual and brain injuries while working in a hospital setting and was able to attend training with Ralph Reitan on Neuropsychological evaluations in the early 80's. After management positions in community mental health settings he served as Director of Behavior Services with a Medicaid waiver provider for 14 years. During that time, Jim served as President of the Indiana Association of Behavior Consultants and also was a board member for several years. Jim was a Program Director with Neuro Restorative in Sarasota Florida, and returned to Indiana in 2012. Jim then established a private consulting practice specializing in community-based behavioral and cognitive services for individuals on the TBI and CIH waivers. Jim states that, “the preponderance of my education resulted from the individuals that I have served.”



Yonda Snyder – Sage Squirrel Consulting, LLC

Yonda was the Director of Indiana’s Division of Aging from January 2014 through February 2018 and is a human resource/organizational design professional with 10 years of combined experience in long term care and state government. Yonda is a partner and co-founder of Sage Squirrel Consulting, LLC. Yonda has a Bachelor's Degree from Indiana University.



Allison Spaeth – MS, OTR/L, CBIS

Allison is a graduate of the University of Southern Indiana with a master’s degree in Occupational Therapy and is a Certified Brain Injury Specialist. She has worked in the field of adult brain injury for over 20 years and is currently employed at the Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana, Northwest Brain Injury Center. She has worked as an occupational therapist in inpatient and outpatient rehab, home health care and longterm care settings. She is passionate about helping individuals regain their independence at home and in the community following brain injury. Allison has served a Prevention Chair for the Brain Injury Association of Indiana and as a committee member for the BIAI Save the Noggin Ride. Allison lives with her husband and their two sons in Carmel, Indiana.



Jean Zander – RN, MSN (retired)

Jean Homrighausen Zander is a pediatric pulmonary clinical nurse specialist who spent her nursing career at James Whitcomb Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. While at Riley Hospital, Jean worked with both acutely ill ICU patients as well as chronically ill individuals, always with an emphasis on the needs of the entire family in the challenges that they faced. She was a widely published author and contributor to both medical and nursing texts as well as a nurse educator/conference speaker throughout North America. Her previous board experience includes the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Indiana, and president of the board of the American Lung Association of Indiana.
